Bruce Zhao, the founder and head florist of Floraland, has always been enamored by the natural world. Growing up in a remote village nestled in the mountains of southwest China, he spent much of his childhood surrounded by the lush forests, babbling rivers, and towering peaks. From a young age, Bruce developed a close relationship with the land and its offerings, including its bountiful food and beautiful flowers.
 

At the tender age of 5, Bruce planted his first dahlias in the rich soil surrounding his home, marveling at the vibrant blossoms that would eventually emerge from his labor. Over time, his fascination with the diversity of flowers deepened, as he learned to appreciate the unique shapes, colors, and textures that each species possessed. As he honed his craft, Bruce also developed a keen understanding of how to respectfully incorporate natural forms and materials into his designs, creating works of art that felt both authentic and breathtaking.
 

In 2018, Bruce and his partner, a wedding & event planner, Neo decided to launch their own floristry business in New York City, drawing on their deep love of nature and meticulous attention to detail to create truly unique and memorable floral designs. With a growing reputation in the local community for their creative, stunning work, the Floraland team is excited to continue crafting fabulous works of art for an ever-expanding range of clients.
